This year so far has been an incredibly busy, amazingly hectic but successful and fun year. We have attended more events in this year than all previous years combined, from providing event photography and video for ICC (International Cheerleading Coalition) and ICE (Incredibly Cool Events) to smaller private functions and other new ventures. We have learnt a lot every single day, and have loved every minute of it.
Some personal highlights of this year include…
ICC British Open 2016
This one will probably make the list every year. What a truly unbelievable show. Some of the best cheerleading and dance talent in the UK fight it out and we get a front row seat! This event was held at the Nottingham Arena and had somewhere between 16,000 to 20,000 people attending.
This event is particularly challenging in many ways, particularly because we shoot approximately 25,000 photos. Per day. Providing event photography on this scale requires some new thinking and methods to make sure the day goes smoothly and we are able to deliver those moments for people, all weekend long.
Check out the following video to get a taste for how exciting the performances that we get to video really are. This is Intensity Cheer Extreme – ICE 5 performing to win a bid to go to the Cheerleading Worlds 2017.
This event is a two day event, and I mean two days. Starting at 6am and finishing at 12pm, or later. I wouldn’t want it to end early though, I am counting the days until ICC British Open 2017 already and can’t wait to see what they have planned for next year!
ICE Luton 2016
Photographing this event was really fun. We have recently teamed up with ICE, and have quickly become great partners and friends with the founder Kimberley Mason. ICE itself is very new, and within a few short months, we saw this fantastic event provider mature a whole lot and this event really showed that ICE is becoming a big player in the industry.
With their brand new backdrop, featuring their new design and logo, the photos and videos taken at the event look fantastic!
We wish ICE all the best for their second season in 2017 and can’t wait to be part of it!
Stacey’s Dance Portfolio
Most of our photography work these days centres around dancers in some way or another and we couldn’t be happier about that. Working with people with such passion for what they do makes our job even more fun and visually, dance is such an incredible thing to shoot.
Stacey wanted a photo portfolio that reflected her style and was looking for something too ‘polished’. We toned down the lights, grabbed some diffusers and got to work trying to create a gritty feeling dance photo portfolio for her.
We tried a whole bunch of stuff, some worked and some really didn’t but the end result is some of my favourite dance photography to date and after getting to know Stacey during the shoot, I would say we definitely nailed a photo set that reflects her style and personality too!

Unity Allstars – Black at ICC British Open 2015
I wish I could include some of the many private functions we attended in this list because we had an incredible time, met some awesome people and delivered some breathtaking memories for people up and down the country.
Event photography and videography really is a varied and challenging line of work, but I honestly have never enjoyed my work more.
Roll on 2017, I can’t wait to see what you have in store!
